Workshops
Sculpt from life model
Small-group, sculpture workshops in a working foundry.
Set in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside, alongside our Sculpture Garden and foundry, our clay sculpture workshops offer a relaxed and inspiring environment to learn, create and develop your skills.
Enjoy expert tuition from practising sculptors, plenty of hands-on guidance and a delicious lunch in the gallery overlooking the garden.
All abilities are welcome, from complete beginners to experienced sculptors.
Location
Set in a small village in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, our foundry and workshop spaces offer a relaxed and inspiring setting for creativity. Between sessions, you are welcome to explore the Sculpture Garden, where many works by Lloyd and Judith Le Blanc can be found among the gardens and surrounding countryside.
Tuition
Our tutors are all practising artists, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to their teaching. Through live demonstrations, practical guidance and individual feedback, they’ll help you develop your skills and confidence throughout the workshop.
Meet our workshop tutors on our Tutors page for bios on our workshop tutors: Hywel Pratley; Andrian Melka; and Tristan MacDougall.
Materials
All materials and tools are provided for our workshops, including wooden armatures and water-based clay, so you can simply turn up and get stuck into sculpting.
At the end of the workshop, you can take your sculpture home in clay, or, if you’d like to take it further, we can discuss the options for having it cast in plaster or bronze.
Lunch
Each day, we take a break for an informal lunch in our gallery overlooking the Sculpture Garden. Faye prepares fresh, simple sharing plates, using ingredients from the garden wherever possible, for everyone to enjoy together.
